Davos vs Klosters: Where to Stay for the Annual Meeting

One of the first decisions for the Annual Meeting is whether to base yourself in Davos itself or in neighbouring Klosters. Both work well — but they suit different priorities. Here is how to think about the choice.
Proximity: Davos wins
If your week is built around the official programme, the houses on the Promenade, and back-to-back meetings, Davos Platz is hard to beat. Being able to walk between the Congress Centre, a lunch, and an evening reception without arranging transport is a genuine advantage when the schedule is tight and the streets are busy. The closer you are to the centre, the more of the day you reclaim.
Privacy and space: Klosters wins
Klosters sits about twenty minutes from Davos by car or rail. What you give up in proximity you gain in calm. Properties tend to be larger and more private, the village is quieter in the evenings, and for principals and families that seclusion is often worth more than the few minutes saved by staying central. It is the classic choice for those who want somewhere to genuinely retreat to at the end of each day.
Property type
Davos has a higher concentration of apartments and serviced units close to the action. Klosters skews toward characterful chalets and larger homes. If you are taking a whole chalet for a team and plan to host, Klosters frequently has the better stock; if you want a compact, central base for one or two people, Davos usually does.
Transfers and logistics
The deciding factor for many is how comfortable they are with a daily transfer. From Klosters, getting to the Congress Centre means a planned car or train journey each morning — entirely manageable with logistics arranged in advance, but something to commit to rather than improvise. From central Davos, much of the day is walkable. Whichever you choose, the practical question is the same: is your daily movement planned, or are you hoping it works out? Plan it.
A simple rule of thumb
Stay in Davos if proximity to the programme is your top priority and you value walkability over space. Choose Klosters if privacy, space, and a calmer base matter more, and you are happy to build a short daily transfer into the plan.
